Yanni Spiropoulos

Founder and Managing Partner 

Yanni Spiropoulos is the Founder and Managing Partner of OCTANE Management Consultants. Yanni has worked for more than 20 years in consulting in Greece and in the United Kingdom.

Prior to founding OCTANE in 2007, Yanni was Director in Charge at KANTOR Management Consultants, serving as head of the company’s Private Sector Consulting as well as its Human Resource Services Divisions. He has also held senior level positions at JWThompson Hellas and Booz Allen & Hamilton in London.

Yanni has led a wide-ranging variety of assignments involving corporate strategy, market and competition analysis, customer management, acquisition support, post-merger integration, performance improvement, restructuring, change management etc. for some of the largest multinational and Greek companies. He has also served as a coach, mentor and evaluator for several family business owners, CEOs, start-ups and entrepreneurs.

He holds a BA from Harvard University and an MBA from INSEAD.

George Pavlatos

George Pavlatos is a co-founder and Partner of OCTANE Management Consultants.

 

George possesses more than 14 years of consulting experience with Octane and previously with KANTOR Management Consultants, focusing on creating actionable strategies for clients ranging from startups to multinationals.

 

He has directed several strategy and restructuring projects for clients such as S&B, Emporiki-Credit Agricole, Hellenic Petroleum, Eurobank, ERGO Insurance, and has carried out a multitude of other engagements in Banking, Telecoms, Transport, Energy, Food, Retail, FMCG and Heavy Industry for clients in Greece and the Balkans.

 

He possesses extensive experience in Change Management, having assisted a number of private and public organizations to design complex change programmes and successfully manage their implementation from start to finish.

He has also successfully supported a large number of established and startup companies in strategy design, competition and market analysis, business planning and fundraising.

He holds a Masters of Engineering from the University of Durham and an MBA from INSEAD.

Dimitris Christacopoulos

Dimitris Christacopoulos has led a 15-year career in banking and consulting in Greece, the United Kingdom, and the United States (Fortis Bank, Barclays Capital, Booz Allen & Hamilton). He is a Partner and Project Director of OCTANE Management Consultants.

 

Prior to joining OCTANE, Dimitris served for six years as the Deputy Country Head and Director of Energy and Project Finance for Fortis Bank in Athens. He was responsible for the set-up and management of the Greek Branch, and provided corporate finance, project financing, and corporate lending services to some of the leading energy and shipping companies in Greece and Turkey,.

 

Dimitris has also held managerial positions with Barclays Capital in London and Booz Allen & Hamilton Consulting in New York. For the latter, he led mixed consultant-client project teams in assignments in the U.S., South America, Europe, and Asia for some of the world’s largest organizations across various industries (energy, financial services, chemicals & pharmaceuticals, etc.), assisting them in the areas of strategic realignment, operational efficiency, and business process reengineering.

 

He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York.

Director 

Alexandros Chloros is a Director of Octane Management Consultants.

 

Alex possesses 20 years of consulting experience, specializing in strategic planning, tendering and privatizations in Greece, the EU and the US.

 

Alex has managed complex multi-year technical assistance projects for several DGs of the European Commission and has participated in a multitude of strategic planning exercises with governmental and non-governmental entities.  Having participated in the Hellenic Republic’s privatization programme since its inception in 2011, Alex has participated in privatization projects both the sell-side and buy-side for commercial and tourist ports, airports and water utilities.

 

He has previously held senior positions with Kantor Management Consultants and HRADF, Digital Aid S.A and Plexus Consulting Group (US).

 

He Holds a BA in Political Science from Denison University and an MA in International Relations from the George Washington University.

Mike Savvides

Mike Savvides

Expert Advisor 

Mike has worked in the financial industry since 1996, primarily in investment banking and capital markets.

 

He has held senior positions at Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan in London, EFG International in Geneva, Eurobank, Marfin and Piraeus Bank in Athens. He used to run a boutique corporate advisory firm, providing consulting services to mid-market companies across different sectors. He is currently also an Advisor to the Board of Hellenic Asset Management.

 

Mike holds a B.Eng. in Aeronautical Engineering, M.Sc. in Computational Fluid Dynamics and a Ph.D in Computational Aerodynamics from Imperial College in London, having acquired scholarships from the United States Office of Naval Research and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.

 

Mike is bilingual in Greek and English and has a working knowledge of German, French and Spanish.

Maria Kefala

Maria Kefala is a Manager at OCTANE Management Consultants.

Maria has worked on several projects with emphasis on corporate organization and corporate strategy in a number of industries primarily real estate, wholesale, energy, and banking.
Prior to joining OCTANE, Maria held internships at WWF Hellas and Imerisia Online.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics with a minor concentration in Government from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. During her time at Georgetown, she was also involved in a wide range of activities ranging from community service, to student newspaper and has held leadership positions in student organizations.

Maria is fluent in Greek, English, French, and Spanish and has a working knowledge of Portuguese.

Olympia Sparaki

Olympia Sparaki is a Manager at OCTANE Management Consultants.

 

Olympia has worked on several projects in UK and Greece, primarily in the field of Supply Chain and Logistics with a focus on process optimization and planning.

 

Prior to Octane, Olympia worked for Accenture Strategy in the UK, where she participated in several complex supply chain and operations management projects for multinational retail, consumer goods and industrial companies.

 

Previously, Olympia has acquired a diverse experience having worked for global consumer goods companies, like Colgate-Palmolive and L'Oreal and for Real Consulting. She has also explored the startup environment and entrepreneurship by working at an emerging Greek startup as Project Manager and prior to that by designing her own business venture.

 

She holds an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business.

Prior to joining Octane, Panos had worked at Deloitte for 5 years in Greece and the Netherlands, serving multinational clients with consulting, planning, compliance and audit services regarding intragroup pricing.

 

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business and an MBA at IE Business School in Madrid, where he was awarded the Dean’s List certificate of excellence for being ranked in the top 10% of the intake.

 

In his spare time, Panos enjoys playing football and running.

Danny Covo is a Consultant at OCTANE Management Consultants.

Prior to OCTANE, Danny has held an internship as a Financial Analyst at The Libra Group in London and at Interfood Ltd. During his internship at The Libra Group, he worked on a wide range of activities including market analysis, financial statements, and research into new business development.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance with concentration in Finance from The American College of Greece.

Danny in his spare time is involved with the Jewish Youth of Athens and is now serving as the elected President.

Sofia Koukoula

Sofia Koukoula is an Analyst at Octane Management Consultants.

 

Prior to joining Octane, Sofia has gathered 1,5 years’ experience as Product Manager for one of the leading retail firms in Greece, managing successfully both private label and branded products.

 

Parallel to her studies, she pursued an internship as Junior Project Manager in Paris, at a firm specializing in offering efficient merchandising solutions to manufacturers and retailers, managing a variety of projects for big multinational companies in the UK & US markets. Moreover, she was responsible for the establishment of the Imports Unit for a family-owned retail SME, participating to Commercial Fairs in China, while leading FOB pricing negotiations with manufacturers.

 

She holds MBA International at Athens University of Economics & Business, specializing in Marketing & Strategy, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Patras, where she graduated at top 10% of her class.

Vasilina Tsitsopoulou

Vasilina Tsitsopoulou is an Analyst at Octane Management Consultants.

 

Prior to Octane, Vasilina was an intern in MIS Department of Piraeus Bank. During her internship, her line of work included collecting data so as to draft reports on behalf of the management.

 

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Athens University of Economics and Business.

Evgenia Lykou

Evgenia Lykou

Evgenia Lykou is an Analyst at Octane Management Consultants.

 

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (B.A.) from the American College of Greece and a Bachelor in Science (Hons) in International Business from the Open University Business School. In 2016, she graduated with distinction from the International Consulting Program of Virginia Commonwealth University in the U.S. In her senior term, she also served as the President of the Economics society.

 

In parallel with her studies, Evgenia participated as the team leader in several consulting projects with multicultural teams in Greece and the U.S. Among the spectrum of provided services are: strategic planning, geographic and commercial expansionary strategy, post-merger integration, and change management for medium-size, multinational companies, NGO, and the Hellenic Ministry of Culture & Sports and Tourism.

 

Evgenia is passionate about openness to new markets. Her dissertation topic was about how to mitigate the risks incurred by firms’ internationalization. She is a keen follower of the tech business evolution and the strategic moves employed by tech companies.
